Pros and cons of electric heating

Over the past few years, electric heating has become extremely popular. These radiators have become much more economical and offer a range of advantages. This article will set out the advantages but also cover the disadvantages of electric heating in the hope that this information will help you make your choice.

A focus on the advantages

1. Heats up quickly: electric heating has built-in resistance which heats up the liquid in the radiator. The heating then gives off this heat, warming the area up quickly. Ideal for the bathroom for example!

2. Ecological: electric heaters do not use fossil fuels such as heating oil or natural gas. Do you have solar panels? Then you can generate a great deal of electricity yourself, and this is particularly environmentally friendly.

3. Safe: when you have electric radiators installed, you can sleep soundly in your bed: there’s no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The heating elements are 100% safe as no gas is used. We also ensure that the heaters do not have any sharp edges. The radiators are therefore safe for  children’s hands!

4. No DIY required: to install electric radiators, you don’t need to make any significant investments or carry out any DIY work. You can just hang them on the wall and enjoy the heat they provide.

Electric heating - one disadvantage

1. Not for everywhere: electric radiators are only really suitable as supplementary heating. You can place them in rooms that need to be a little warmer than the rest of the house, e.g. in the bathroom. If you use electric heating everywhere, you’ll notice your energy bills going through the roof.
