Tips for cheap heating

Tips for cheap heating

On the one hand, there's nothing as unwelcoming as a cold house. But, on the other, you don’t want to spend a fortune on a high energy bill. Do you want to be careful with your heating so you can save your money for nicer things? Then take a look at these tips for cheaper heating!

Heat at low temperature

Using low temperature heating doesn't mean that it will be colder in your home. Our homes are increasingly well insulated and therefore need less heat. With classic heating, the supply temperature of the heating water is between 75°C and 85°C. With low-temperature radiators, the water is warm enough at 45°-55° C. This requires a lot less energy to heat the water and you will notice the difference in your wallet. Extra bonus point: low-temperature radiators offer better efficiency than traditional examples.

Choose electric heating

The fact that electric radiators use a lot of energy is a widespread fallacy. In fact, the opposite is true; modern versions by Brugman are extremely energy-efficient as long as they are used in the right way. Use them as additional heating in your home in places where there are no pipes (e.g. in an attic room) or in rooms that need to be a bit warmer e.g. the bathroom).

Even small efforts can make a difference

To heat more efficiently (and cheaply) you don't need to replace all your radiators. Even small interventions will reduce your energy bill:

●      Is it dark outdoors? Close your curtains or roller blinds so that the heat stays in your home and doesn't escape out of the windows.

●      Choose the right capacity for your radiators. Heating systems with excessive output don't offer any benefits.

●      Set your thermostat correctly so that your radiators aren't running when you’re not at home.

●      Keep doors closed as much as possible.
